Doha, August 25 (QNA) - Al-Watan newspaper in its editorial Tuesday praised the efforts of the State of Qatar to preserve workers' rights and enact many laws aimed at protecting them and providing support and assistance to them, with the aim of bringing about sustainable and fundamental change that guarantees their rights and ensures that their requirements are met.
The newspaper explained that the State of Qatar has not only provided adequate housing, medicine and treatment at the highest level for workers thanks to its high-level institutions and medical experiences, but has set very important and progressive requirements, to ensure that workers enjoy the best conditions, which were not available in many developed countries of the world, by the testimony of the workers themselves.
There are many followed procedures that the State of Qatar urges regarding workers' rights, including transferring workers' salaries to banks on specific dates, and violating many companies for late payment of salaries, and if there are some very limited exceptions, they are individual cases, the newspaper added.
Al-Watan concluded by stressing that the State of Qatar has spared no effort and will not spare any effort in dealing with any issues related to workers 'rights, and will work sincerely to modernize the wage protection system and the Workers' Support and Insurance Fund with the International Labor Organization.
