Al-Sharq Acknowledges Qatar's Outstanding Presence in All International, Regional Forums

Doha, June 12 (QNA) - In its Sunday editorial, Al-Sharq daily newspaper noted the prominent presence of the State of Qatar in all international and regional forums, thanks to its influential contributions and partnerships in efforts to establish the foundations of peace, security and stability in the world, whether through preventive diplomacy and its successful mediation in many files, or its active participation in combating terrorism and extremism, and its strong involvement in multilateral cooperation to confront major global challenges.
In this context, the paper noted HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah's participation in the work of the 19th Shangri-La Dialogue, which is taking place in the Republic of Singapore. It is one of the most important security summits in the world held annually by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, with the participation of a large number of heads of government, ministers and leaders in various fields from Asian and Western countries, including the United States, China and Japan.
The newspaper stated that the participation of HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah has included his presence in the round table meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Defense, as well as participation in a dialogue session entitled "Developing new models of security cooperation" within the work of the Shangri-La Dialogue.
The paper also referred to his meeting on the sidelines of the security summit with HE President of the Republic of Singapore Halimah Yacob, and a number of officials in Singapore, including the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs and the Coordinating Minister for National Security of the Republic of Singapore, where they reviewed ways to strengthen and develop bilateral military relations between the two countries.
Concluding, Al-Sharq said that the State of Qatar, which plays a balanced and reliable political, economic and defense role at the global level, based on Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on serving interests represented in global cohesion and peace, believes in the necessity of coordinating security cooperation by following a comprehensive approach, and building the security capabilities of all countries in a way that leads to achieving comprehensive and sustainable security.
