Hong Kong, December 10, 2025 – The Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Hong Kong hosted a reception to celebrate Qatar National Day. The event was attended by His Excellency Mr. Joseph Chan, under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, as guest of honor and representative of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and His Excellency Mr. Hua You, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong.

Her Excellency Sheikha Noura bint Khalifa Al Thani, Consul General of the State of Qatar, delivered a speech on the development of bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the People's Republic of China. She highlighted the exchange of visits between the two sides and Qatar's achievements in various fields.

The guest of honor, Mr. Joseph Chan, also spoke, emphasizing the significant progress in relations between the State of Qatar and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region this year, and the government's commitment to strengthening trade cooperation and tourism between Qatar and the region. The ceremony was attended by a large number of officials from the Hong Kong Regional Government, a number of heads of diplomatic missions, as well as a number of heads of chambers of commerce in the Hong Kong region, a large number of businessmen, representatives of major companies and institutions in the region, and other friends of the consulate.
