Doha, September 05 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has reached a privileged position at the global level, thanks to the visions of the wise leadership which has exerted all possible efforts for the development and prosperity of the homeland and the citizens in all fields, Qatari newspaper Al-Watan said in its editorial on Saturday.
The State of Qatar ranked second globally in the infrastructure indicator in the Global Innovation Index 2020, and the tenth in technology imports to total trade, the 16th in the market value of the stock exchange to the GDP, the 29th in the logistics performance indicator, and the 26th in the ratio of new economic activities. These global indicators affirm the progress Qatar is witnessing in enhancing its economy and its ability to attract foreign investments. These advanced ranks were the outcome of modernizing the economic and legislative environment in the State, in addition to the application of various strategies related to Qatar National Vision 2030, which was directly reflected in global indicators and the status of the state, Al-Watan stressed.
Qatar's advanced ranking in the Global Innovation Index 2020 represents a new success that reflects the distinguished position of the State of Qatar in the world in many economic, security and social fields, and the success of its strategy in enhancing security and safety, improving the investment environment, easing business and increasing the private sector's contribution to the GDP, Al-Watan added.
According to the report, the State of Qatar has preceded the countries of the region as well as Italy, Turkey, Russia, India, Poland and Argentina, most of which belong to the G20 as the largest economy in the world. These Qatari successes are due to institutional capabilities, infrastructure, communications and information technology, macroeconomic environment, health, skills, commodity market efficiency, labor market efficiency, financial system, market size, business dynamism, and creativity, Al-Watan concluded.
