Riyadh, January 04 (QNA) - HE GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf welcomed Monday the opening of airspace, land and sea borders between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Al Hajraf said that the move, which comes on the eve of the 41st session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), reflects the commitment and sincere efforts being made to ensure the success of the summit that are held under extraordinary circumstances. He added that Gulf citizens pin a lot of hopes on the summit in terms of strengthening the GCC, and its ability to overcome all obstacles and challenges. He added that the wisdom of GCC leaders will also help in strengthening the council, given that it represent a strategic choice for all its members.

He stressed that GCC nationals were optimistic that the step would lead to a stronger, more united GCC that boosts the development, progress, security, and stability of its members. (QNA)
