Doha, February 01 (QNA) - Match Hospitality, the worldwide exclusive rights holder of the FIFA Hospitality Program, announced today that pre-sales of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Hospitality Program achieved a record of $90 million.
The pre-sales phase overseen by Match Hospitality was limited to FIFA partners and selected groups.
Match Hospitality is the only FIFA-appointed company to promote and sell exclusively the all-inclusive commercial hospitality packages for official tickets for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, either directly through the company or through its network of sales agents.
Match Hospitality has also announced the appointment of 27 internationally renowned sales agents in 39 countries to sell the World Cup Qatar 2022 hospitality packages around the world as part of an international tender the company has put forward to select travel and sports hospitality agents.
The appointed agents pledged that their total sales would exceed $260 million, so that FIFA would set another record at the level of targeted sales of hospitality packages in the pre-sale phase, which far exceeds the pledges of Match Hospitality agents in the same phase during the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 and FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014.
Official sales agents are authorized by Match Hospitality to sell ticket-inclusive hospitality packages with optional travel packages, including accommodation and flights and other travel services.
Executive Chairman of MATCH Hospitality, Jaime Byrom said "The remarkable response we have had to our pre-sales has further cemented our belief that despite the events of recent months due to the global pandemic, there remains unwavering enthusiasm and interest in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Hospitality Program.
"Qatar promises to deliver an amazing tournament that will capitalize on its principal attributes; the close proximity of its eight stadiums which are all located in or within a short driving distance of Doha, a fascinating region with unique attractions, spectacular state-of-the-art stadiums, and traditional Arabic hospitality," he added.
CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC Nasser Al Khater said "The launch of global hospitality packages for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 brings us another step closer to delivering an extraordinary tournament in just under two years' time. We have always said that Qatar 2022 will set new global benchmarks for the delivery of mega-events, and hospitality is no exception.
"Making guests welcome and feel entirely at home is a central tenet of Arab and Middle Eastern culture; alongside our partners, we look forward to greeting our fans and visitors with a once-in-a-lifetime experience when they come to Qatar, and help them make memories they will never forget," he added.
FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 hospitality packages are available from today and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
The hospitality program for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 offers packages that include official tickets and a wide range of field services within the stadiums, including luxury food and drinks, distinctive parking, entertainment facilities, and other additional services such as accommodation and flight.
Match Hospitality has the exclusive right to provide hospitality services in private suites, lounges and temporary buildings within the stadium's security perimeter. The hospitality program services are divided into five categories that fall into three levels, namely the luxurious level, the businessman level and the entertainment level, to meet the customers' preferences, needs and budgets.
"We are delighted to see such extraordinary interest in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, when following challenging times, the world can come together for a global festival of football," said FIFA Director of Commercial Revenue Nick Brown. "The FIFA Hospitality Program has a proven track record of delivering a fantastic range of products, and in late 2022 we will open the door to world-class services and memorable experiences for hospitality clients."
