Al-Watan: MoPH Obtained Advanced Global Classification in Dealing with COVID-19

Doha, January 15 (QNA) - Al-Watan daily newspaper noted on Saturday that the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in the State of Qatar ranked 15th globally among the best ministries of health in dealing with (Covid-19) pandemic, according to the classification of the German magazine Der Spiegel. In addition, the Central Food Laboratories in the State of Qatar obtained the American national accreditation for American standards.

In its editorial, the paper said that this high position that health services have reached in Qatar was the result of hard work over many years, aimed at ensuring the provision of the best level of preventive and curative health care in accordance with the highest standards and providing a healthy future for all.

Qatar National Health Strategy aims to improve the quality of services provided, and works to achieve the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 by achieving several basic goals, namely, a comprehensive and world-class health care system that reaches the entire population, an integrated care system that provides high-quality services, preventive health that takes into account different needs, a skilled Qatari workforce capable of providing high-quality health services, a national health policy that sets and monitors standards, and high-level research aimed at improving the effectiveness and quality of health care, The newspaper added.

Al Watan also indicated that QR 20 billion was allocated to the health sector within the state budget for the current year, which represents 9.8 percent of the total expenditures, in order to spend on more development projects and programs to improve the health care services provided. (QNA)
