Newspapers: Qatar Welcomes 2019 with Achievements

Doha, January 01 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers said that the State of Qatar welcomes the new year 2019, while continuing through its internal and external achievements to face the unjust blockade and move resolutely towards achieving its noble goals at all levels and in all sectors.

The newspapers stressed that 2018 witnessed the Qatari steadfastness in the face of the consequences of the unjust blockade.

In its editorial Tuesday, Al-Raya newspaper expressed hope that 2019 will be a good year for the Arab peoples, a stable year for the region and a year of peace for the world as a whole.

The paper added that 2018 witnessed various events that pleased some peoples and harmed others, stressing the need to draw lessons to welcome the new year with the hope that it will be a good and stable year for all, especially for our Arab nation which suffers from crises and conflicts.

The continuation of the unjust blockade on the State of Qatar has been a disgrace to the blockading countries, which failed to implement their conspiratorial plans on Qatar thanks to the wisdom of our wise leadership in dealing with the crisis with professionalism and credibility, the paper said.

The State of Qatar succeeded in overcoming the blockade by creating and deepening strategic partnerships and building distinguished relations with the major international powers, especially America and Europe, as well as establishing cooperative relations and partnership with African, Asian and South American countries.

In conclusion, Al-Raya wished the State of Qatar and its people further progress and prosperity, and the problems and crises of the Arab and Islamic world will be solved, foremost of which is the Palestine cause, the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the situation in Syria.

For its part, Al-Sharq said that the State of Qatar welcomes the new year, while continuing through its internal and external achievements to face the unjust blockade and move resolutely towards achieving its noble goals at all levels.

In its editorial today, the newspaper pointed out that in 2018, the State of Qatar provided a great and civilized model in dealing with the blockade and showed its credibility to the world in all its positions, while in contrast, the countries of the blockade are in the swamp of lies and falsehoods.

The blockade did not deter Qatar from achieving record numbers in the fields of development, construction and renaissance projects that are in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, the paper underlined.

The paper also said that the Qatari policy, by the testimony of everyone, has achieved a great success, noting the foreign tours of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in Africa, Europe, Asia, America and Latin America which have had a great impact on Qatar's international and regional standing.

The State of Qatar will continue its progress and success in the new year, and speed pace in the economic field based on diversification and foreign investments in the sectors of energy, tourism, hotels, banks, sports and others, the Qatari daily said.

In conclusion, Al-Sharq said that the State of Qatar will proceed at a steady pace in the development of education, rehabilitation and building of Qatari people for the future, and will invest more in the human element in accordance with its vision and project, in order to create a generation capable of carrying the torch of development, prosperity and management.

Al-Watan newspaper said that 2019 comes with great ambitions and hopes for full stability and continuation of development and comprehensive process of the Qatari renaissance in all walks of life.

The year 2018 will remain a testament to the Qatari steadfastness in the face of the consequences of the unjust blockade in more than a year and a half, the paper said.

With the guidance of our wise leadership and our good government, the State of Qatar begins the new year to make further achievements, well-being and prosperity, and achieve qualitative leap in the knowledge economy, diversification of exports and self-sufficiency through local economic instruments, Al-Watan said.

Qatar, which has established strategic partnerships with Turkey, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy, is expected to see more diplomatic successes in 2019, the paper pointed out.

Qatar's active diplomacy has contributed to major breakthroughs on all continents, expanding its new partnerships with emerging economies in Latin America, Africa and Asia, the paper underlined, adding that it has always been an advocate of Arabism, Islam and our central cause, Palestine, with all forms of logistical and moral support.

Al-Watan concluded by saying that the continuation of leadership is a Qatari goal, and thanks to the guidance of our wise leadership and wise plans of our Government, we will proceed to the ever-prosperous future of achievement and miracles. (QNA)
