Financial Secretary for the Hong Kong Administrative region the honorable Mr. Paul Chan received on 23 April 2019 His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Sultan Al-Kuwari, Consul General of the State of Qatar in Hong Kong.

Both parties discussed means to deepen business bilateral ties between the State of Qatar and the Hong Kong Administrative Region, as well as negotiating possible future cooperation and investment opportunities and chances for the exchange of official visits.

In the course of the meeting, both parties pointed out the keen interest of the State of Qatar in the Belt and Road Initiative, and highlighted as well the deep effects of the diversity of the Hong Kong economy, along with the city’s full participation in the Belt and Road initiative, and the position of Hong Kong as a gateway for trade in China; into emphasizing its state as a distinguished international trade center in the world.
