Hong Kong December 10, 2019 – The Consulate General of the State of Qatar held a reception celebrating the National Day of the State of Qatar. The Chief Secretary for Administration, the Honourable Mr. Matthew Cheung attended the celebration as the guest of honour representing the government of Hong Kong SAR. The celebration was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs Commissioner’s office in Hong Kong, Mr. Ru’an Song.

Consul General, his Excellency Mr. Mohammed Sultan Al Kuwari presented a speech reflecting on the deepening of bilateral ties between the State of Qatar and China, as well as the Hong Kong SAR, he has also shed light on the countless achievements of the State of Qatar.

The Honourable Mr. Matthew Cheung highlighted in his speech the advancement of trade between the State of Qatar and Hong Kong

The reception saw attendance of numerous government officials as well as heads of Consular Missions in Hong Kong, heads of chambers of commerce, businessmen, companies’ representatives and the friends of the Consulate General.

In the course of the celebration both National Anthems of the State of Qatar and the People’s Republic of China were played.
