Hong Kong December 15, 2021- The Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Hong Kong held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the State.
The ceremony was attended by The Honourable  Mrs. Teresa Cheng, Secretary for Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, as a guest of honor and representative of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, and the Deputy Commissioner of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong Mr. Pan Yundong, in addition to the Secretary of Commerce and Economic Development,  The Honourable  Mr. Edward Yau,   Secretary of Financial Services and Treasury, Mr. Christopher Hui, and President of the Hong Kong Football Association, Mr. Timothy Fok, in addition to government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, and a number of dignitaries from various sectors in Hong Kong. 



  His Excellency Ali bin Saad Al-Hajri, Consul General of the State of Qatar, delivered a speech on the development of bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and  Hong Kong on the one hand, and the People's Republic of China on the other hand,he also mentioned the achievements of the State of Qatar in various fields and its preparations for hosting the World Cup 2022.



The guest of honor,  The Honourable   Mrs. Teresa Cheng, also gave a speech on the great development witnessed by the relations between the State of Qatar and the Hong Kong SAR, and she also congratulated the State of Qatar for its achievements in the field of sports.
 the celebration witnessed the inauguration of an exhibition showing the stadiums of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The Consul General, officials from the Hong Kong government, and our partners in the ceremony cut the ribbon for the opening:
- Mr. (Terence Yu) Director of the Qatar Airways office in Hong Kong
- Mr. (Stephen Holden) Director of Qatar National Bank in Hong Kong
- Mr. Paul Whelan, Director of BH Hospitality (the office authorized by FIFA to sell hospitality tickets for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022).


 



 A number of prizes were also drawn from our partners in the ceremony, which included two tickets to Qatar on Qatar Airways, a room and a suite for accommodation in the Rosewood Hotel.
