Doha, May 02 (QNA) - During the meeting of the executive committee of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) which was held via video conference, the State of Qatar has reviewed its latest preparations for hosting the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha.

The Secretary General of the International Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha and Director of the Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Engineer Muhammad Ali Al Khoury, during the meeting, pointed out to the continuous efforts and endeavors made in preparation for Qatar's hosting this event despite the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on changing the hosting year.

He reviewed the latest developments to the members and attendees of the BIE Executive Committee, pointing out that this important event will contribute to providing pivotal foundations for potential investments in innovative agricultural technologies, promotes global environmental awareness and supports the conversion of dry lands into agricultural areas.

He renewed an invitation to all BIE member states and horticulture supporters around the world to visit Doha in 2023, not only to learn about its unique heritage, but also to become part of this new awareness and global movement towards a "Green Desert, Better Environment", which is the official theme of the exhibition.

It is worth mentioning that Doha 2023 Horticulture Expo will open its doors in Oct. 2023 and will continue until March 28, 2024, and this event is expected to attract more than 3 million visitors from more than 80 countries, and will be held in Al Bidda Park, one of the most popular public places located in the heart of Doha.
