Newspapers: Qatar Pivotal Partner in Building Confidence and Stability in World

Doha, June 16 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's distinguished participation in the fifth summit of Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which took place in the Kazakh capital of Dushanbe, and HH's meetings with the leaders of Russia, China, Turkey, Iran and Tajikistan, which underline the importance of Qatar as an important and pivotal state not only in the Gulf and the Middle East but also in Asia as a key partner in solving many crises.

HH the Amir's participation in the Summit is a new contribution to the promotion of peace, development, prosperity and confidence and to the confidence-building among the countries of the world.

In its editorial Sunday, Al-Watan said that HH's participation in the Summit attracted attention on all political, diplomatic and media levels, which reflects the distinguished position of the State of Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The newspaper also noted the keenness on following up HH's participation in the CICA Summit and HH's talks and side meetings with the most prominent Asian leaders participating in the Summit, which discussed enhancing Qatar's relations with these countries towards broader horizons.

Moreover, the paper underlined that HH's participation in this Summit has contributed to advancing the path of the high-level Asian political dialogue towards the desired success of achieving the goals of the Asian continent and its peoples amidst the great challenges witnessed by the world currently, particularly in security and economic aspects.

Al-Watan concluded that observers have valued the bright ideas and wise visions of HH the Amir in his participation in the Summit.

For its part, Al-Sharq newspaper praised in its Sunday editorial the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), held in Dushanbe on Saturday, which added to the State's record a new contribution to the promotion of peace, development, prosperity and building trust among the nations of the world.

The CICA summit, a global platform and an important international Asian alliance calling for international cooperation, confidence-building, capacity-building and joint planning to serve humanity, was held in the presence of Their Highnesses and Excellencies heads of states, governments and delegations taking part, the newspaper underlined.

Al-Sharq pointed out that the objectives of the summit are evidence of the noble intentions of the leaders of Asian countries and their continuous efforts since the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in the Cold War and the bilateral Antarctic era. The call to build confidence and promote joint cooperation is an important strategic call without which the peoples of the region will find many difficult challenges that may impede their progress in achieving the desired economic cooperation objectives, the paper added.

The State of Qatar's participation in the CICA summit highlights the State's positions aimed at strengthening international cooperation and serving the interests of the people, which has made the participation of Qatar a key factor in the success of these summits to achieve its strategic objectives, Al-Sharq noted.

The CICA summit resulted in important outcome because it was consistent with the wishes of the participating leaders and expressed their goals, which came after meetings, consultations and discussions that helped to produce tangible results, Al-Sharq concluded.

For its part, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted in its Sunday editorial the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in the Republic of Tajikistan, which underscores the importance of Qatar as an important pivotal State in solving many crises not only in the Gulf and the Middle East regions, but also at the Asian level.

During the meeting, the Russian President stressed that Qatar is an important and strategic partner in the Middle East, which represents a clear Russian message recognizing the positive role of Qatar in resolving the region's issues, the newspaper noted. The meeting between the two leaders underscored the joint concern for the development of bilateral cooperation relations, especially that Qatar is preparing to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and it looks forward to the continuation of cooperation between the two countries during the organization of Russia 2018 World Cup and the importance of enhancing the exchange of experiences for Qatar 2022.

The paper pointed out that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, stressed that Qatar's historical and clear position that any dispute between neighbors should be resolved through dialogue comes from Qatar's keenness to spare the region any further conflict.

During the meeting, HH the Amir stressed Qatar's clear position that any disagreement among neighbors should be resolved through dialogue. HH the Amir thanked HE the Iranian President for Iran's stance on the blockade imposed on the State of Qatar for more than two years, during which Tehran provided air, land and sea transit facilities to Doha, the paper added.

Qatar spares no effort to stabilize the Gulf region in particular, and the Asian region in general. Last April, Qatar hosted the 16th ministerial meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD). The State of Qatar played an important role in reviving the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, Al-Arab said.

Those who imposed the blockade on Qatar thought that Doha would be isolated from the world, but Qatar is present in all forums to spread the values of peace and justice, Al-Arab concluded. (QNA)
