Doha, June 23 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers underlined HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, stressing that the official talks between HH and HE Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday reflect the flourishing relations between Qatar and Pakistan.
The newspapers noted the strong economic realities and the deep economic partnership between the two friendly countries for the mutual benefits of their peoples.
HH the Amir's visit to Pakistan at this time is important due to the current events in the region, the papers said, referring to the close relations between the two countries, the papers said.
The papers also noted the presence of tens of thousands of Pakistanies working in their second country Qatar and contributing with every effort and sincerity to its rise and progress.
In its editorial Sunday, Al-Raya said that the official talks between HH the Amir and HE Pakistani Prime Minister in Islamabad yesterday reflect the importance and strategy of Qatari-Pakistani relations and the common desire of the two countries' leaders to transform them from bilateral cooperative relations to a strategic partnership in various fields.
The importance of HH's visit to Pakistan stems from the fact that it was a confirmation of the strength of the bilateral relations between Qatar and Pakistan, the paper said, underlying the outcome of the talks, which included aspects of enhancing relations between the two countries in various fields, especially in economy, trade, investment, energy, tourism, education and other fields that serve the bilateral interests of the two countries.
The signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between the governments of the two countries, including a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of Qatari-Pakistani Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment between Qatar's Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce and Textile Industry that aims to expand the horizons of trade and investment cooperation, support communications and enhance confidence between the two countries in order to boost economic growth, as well as a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of tourism and business activities.
The Qatari-Pakistani relations are not limited to cooperation in the political, economic and military fields, but include cooperation to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, Al-Raya concluded, referring to the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperate in the exchange of financial investigations related to money laundering, related original crime and the financing of terrorism to enhance cooperation to effectively reduce and combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
In turn, Al-Watan newspaper noted Qatar's remarkable foreign policy achievements and said that Qatar undertakes constant efforts to have effective and strong partnerships with the most important regional and international partners by establishing bonds of cooperation among states and international groups with weight and influence in the tracks of the international economy.
In view of this vision, the paper said that observers continued to pay tribute to the importance of the two-day state visit initiated by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a visit that reviewed important files to promote cooperation and economic partnership between Doha and Islamabad in an unprecedented manner.
It pointed out that the reality of these prosperous relations between Qatar and Pakistan is full of signs of exceptional importance translated into economic realities, namely the high level of trade exchange, investment movement and the deep economic partnership between the two friendly countries for their benefit and in order to achieve the common benefits of their peoples.
It is clear that the strong political will of HH the Amir to push forwards these bilateral relations with Pakistan to a greater level reflects the common desire of the two countries to continue the economic cooperation and partnership between them in all fields, Al-Watan said.
Al-Watan concluded by praising HH the Amir's visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which certainly bears clear signs of the two countries' intention to upgrade their bilateral relations and reach a more prosperous economic reality.
For its part, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted in its Sunday editorial the warm hospitality and official welcoming ceremony held for HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which reflects the essence of the strong relations between the two leaders, as well as HH the Amir's relations with the Pakistani Prime Minister.
The newspaper noted that the first day of HH the Amir's visit has contributed to strengthening and developing relations of friendship, cooperation and partnership between the two countries, especially the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding and agreements between the governments of the two countries in many fields, such as trade, investment, energy, tourism, education and effective cooperation in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing, as well as coordination of positions on common issues on the regional and international arenas, Middle East and the increasing escalation in the Gulf region.
This important visit is due to the strong will of HH the Amir and Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, which will open new horizons for cooperation between the two countries and set the stage for strategic cooperation to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, Al-Sharq underlined.
Al-Sharq pointed out that what distinguishes Qatari-Pakistani relations is their deep roots in history, which includes mutual visits and the continuous consultations between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the keenness and common desire that help to progress steadily towards building a strategic partnership that serves as a model for the region. The paper added that the two countries and peoples bring together many cultural and religious groups and the similarity of positions on many issues on the international and regional arenas.
The agreement on the supply of liquefied natural gas from the State of Qatar, the opening of Doha to Islamabad and the promotion of the movement of exports and imports due to a direct shipping line between the two countries, which was launched in 2017 linking the port of Hamad to port of Karachi, has contributed to the increase in trade exchange between Qatar and Pakistan at record rates, the paper said.
Al-Sharq stressed that the visit of HH the Amir to Pakistan, which is an important pivotal country in the Asia region, also comes within the framework of the policy of openness in the foreign relations adopted by HH the Amir, a policy that earned the State of Qatar a high and distinct position. These policies have given Qatar several strategic partnerships with the majority of influential countries in the world, wherein Doha has become an important destination for world leaders to visit and coordinate on all issues, the newspaper added.
The State of Qatar enjoys balanced relations with all parties and tends to develop strategic cooperation to achieve the common interests of the people, therefore these relations find support to achieve the required sustainability in the success of projects, Al-Sharq concluded.

The newspaper said that the talks and the statements issued by the two leaders, predict that the relations of the two important countries will see a boom during the coming period, pointing out that the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed hope that HH's visit would contribute to cementing and developing the friendship relations between the two countries and hailed the great successes Qatar has achieved in different fields, which will be conducive to further joint cooperation. In turn, HH the Amir voiced confidence that the visit would constitute a platform for strategic cooperation that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples, the paper added.
The memorandums of understanding signed by HH the Amir and the Pakistani Prime Minister, the paper said, aim to strengthen cooperation between them to effectively curb and combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
The newspaper also referred to Pakistani Prime Minister's visit to Doha last January and his statements which reflected the importance attached by his country to its relations with Qatar and stressed the keenness to strengthen relations of cooperation with Doha in various fields.
The policy pursued by the Pakistani Prime Minister and his keenness to keep his country from joining any alliances that threaten the security of the region, is a positive factor that will strengthen relations with Doha, which always calls for dialogue to resolve any political differences here and there, Al-Arab underlined.
Al-Arab concluded by saying that HH the Amir's visit to Pakistan in the current atmosphere and conditions in the Gulf, affirms the keenness of the State of Qatar to strengthen its relations with various countries of the world and pays particular attention to its Islamic and Asian depth. (QNA)
