Ooredoo announced the completion of its 5G rollout for Phase 1 of deployment at Hamad Port Container Terminal 2, a project that commenced in June 2020 in partnership with the terminals operator, QTerminals. This milestone means that Hamad Port is the first 5G-enabled seaport in Middle East, powered by Ooredoo.

Next month, Al Thumama Stadium will be the latest FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 venue to be inaugurated when it hosts HH the Amir Cup Final between Al Rayyan and Al Sadd. The 22 October unveiling will mark the completion of the sixth tournament-ready stadium after Khalifa International, Al Janoub, Education City, Ahmad Bin Ali and Al Bayt.

The value of electronic commerce (e-commerce) in Qatar exceeded USD 2.2 billion in 2020 compared to USD 1.5 billion in 2019, showing an increase of 47 percent, a recent study conducted by Qatar Chamber revealed. The study titled 'E-Commerce in the State of Qatar: Reality, Challenges and Solutions' also said that the volume of e-commerce in the state is expected to hit USD2.3 billion in the current year.
