SC Launches Host Fan Initiative

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has announced the launch of its Host a Fan initiative, enabling households across the country to volunteer to host visiting supporters during upcoming sporting events. An expression of the Arab world's famed hospitality, the first-of-a-kind program will link supporters traveling to Qatar for major tournaments with locals and residents.


Qatar Participates in G-20 Meeting on Afghanistan at the Level of Foreign Ministers

The State of Qatar participated in the Group of Twenty's (G-20) meeting on Afghanistan at the level of foreign ministers, which was held via video conference on the sidelines of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly. The State of Qatar was represented in the meeting by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.


SC Announces Readiness of Al Thumama Stadium

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) announced the readiness of Al Thumama Stadium, the sixth World Cup stadium, to host the final of HH the Amir's Cup, which will bring together Al Sadd and Al Rayyan on October 22.

HE Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Group Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani underlined that the Group seeks to conclude any deal and seize any opportunity to enhance the company's position, maximize shareholder benefit and serve customers. Speaking at a press conference held today, HE the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Group said that the proposed merger of telecoms brands, Indosat Ooredoo and Hutchison 3, is expected to be completed by the end of 2021, noting that the completion of the transaction will be subject to the approval of Ooredoo Group, CK Hutchison, Indosat Ooredoo shareholders, regulatory approvals and other customary terms and conditions.


Qatar Participates in Panel Discussion on Protection of Women and Girls' Rights in Afghanistan and the Region

The State of Qatar today participated in a panel discussion on the protection of the Afghan people, especially women and girls in Afghanistan and the region, held on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, currently underway in New York. The state of Qatar was represented at the session by HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraiki.


Minister of Public Health Meets WHO Director-General

HE Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari met on Sunday with HE Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who is currently visiting the country. The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between Qatar and the World Health Organization, and the cooperation between the two sides in helping the Afghan people.
