Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met today with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths, who is currently visiting the country. Qatar Facilitates Evacuation of 40,000 People Safely from Kabul

The State of Qatar announced that, in coordination with concerned countries and parties in Afghanistan, it has facilitated the evacuation of more than 40,000 people safely from the Afghan capital, Kabul, to Qatar, and that most of the evacuees are transiting in Qatar, where they are hosted temporarily for a few days before departing on flights to their onward destinations, adding that evacuation efforts will continue in the coming days in consultation with international partners.
