HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani participated in the high-level event to celebrate the International Day to Protect Education from Attack, which comes on Sept. 9 of each year. The event was organized by Education Above All, the State of Qatar's permanent delegation to the United Nations, UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict at the level of Under-Secretary-General.

President of the International Federation of Asian and African Trade Unions Saud Al Hujailan praised the measures and reforms taken by the State of Qatar in favor of workers. The President of the International Federation of Asian and African Trade Unions said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the decision of the State of Qatar to implement minimum wage for migrant workers is a pioneering step in a region characterized by the density of expatriate workers and praised Qatar's efforts to improve working conditions.

Education Above All (EAA) Foundation will hold on Thursday a high-level event to celebrate the International Day to Protect Education from Attack, which takes place on September 9 of each year. The virtual event, under the title "Protect Education for Sustainable Peace", constitutes a platform to discuss building sustainable education and peace, governance mechanisms, and legal mechanisms for protecting education, as well as the importance of collecting data and evidence to hold perpetrators accountable and achieve justice for victims.

Qatar Private Sector Exports Grow by 56% in H1 of 2021

The total value of private sector exports stood at QR 12.3 billion during the first half of this year, reflecting a 56% growth compared to QR 7.9 billion during the same period last year. Data showed that Qatari non-oil exports have recovered from the negative impacts of COVID-19 and registered a significant increase whether on month-to-month base or on quarterly-to-quarterly base.
