Today, Education Above All Foundation (EAA) along with its partners, launches the #BuildBackEducation campaign, in the lead-up to the 3rd International Day of Education on 24 January 2021. The campaign calls on the international community to support the important cause of building back education in 2021, which should be put at the forefront of the global COVID-19 recovery process.

The State of Qatar won the LOreal-UNESCO Award for the year 2020 presented for distinguished women in the field of science. The Award was presented to Dr. Isra Marei, post-doctoral associate in pharmacology at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q). She was recognized for her research towards the development of 3D vascular drug screening platforms based on cord blood endothelial progenitor cells.

The United States, represented by the US Department of Defense, presented HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani with the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the highest honorary award given by the United States to US officials and officials of the governments of friendly countries.

Qatar Airways announced Tuesday that it has achieved Diamond Standard in the Airline Passenger Experience Associations (APEX) Health Safety Powered by SimpliFlying audit. The Diamond Standard status, which is the highest level attainable, was announced by APEX and global aviation marketing consultancy, SimpliFlying, following a meticulous assessment of the airlines robust COVID-19 hygiene and safety standards.

Qatar Chamber (QC) has issued its monthly economic newsletter for December 2020 which highlighted the most prominent trends in the Qatari economy, as well as statistics related to foreign trade and trade of private sector in October 2020. The newsletter said that the budget's main indicators emphasized that the year 2021 would be a year of recovery for Qatar's economy from the implications caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
