Qatari Diar Real Estate Company announced the official opening of the wholly owned St. Regis Cairo Hotel in Cairo in the presence of HE Minister of Finance Ali Shareef Al Emadi, US Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, and Minister of Finance of Egypt Dr. Mohamed Moait. The opening ceremony was also attended by HE Chairman of Qatari Diar Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Thani, CEO of Qatari Diar Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, and Marriott international President for Europe, Middle East and Africa Satya Anand, alongside a number of eminent individuals from both Qatar and Egypt.

Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar reached an agreement to open airspace as well as land and sea border starting tonight.

HE GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf welcomed Monday the opening of airspace, land and sea borders between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Qatar Airways announced Thursday that it began the first stage of codeshare cooperation with China Southern Airlines, with the Chinese carrier placing its code on Qatar Airways flights between Guangzhou and Doha. Flights are already available for sale with the first codeshare flights starting from Dec. 27, 2020.

The Global Competitiveness Report is issued annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in cooperation with the Qatari Businessmen Association and the Social and Economic Survey Research Institute of Qatar University (SESRI). In the 2020 report, Qatar ranked among the top ten countries in adopting information and communication technology, flexible work arrangements, digital skills, and the digital legal framework, and it is the second Arab country in this classification.

In their editorials on Wednesday, Qatari newspapers affirmed that Hamad Port is an advanced leap that will support the State of Qatar's economy and renaissance. In this regard, the newspapers hailed the initial operation of Hamad Port's Container Terminal 2 (CT2) which was inaugurated on Tuesday by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, pointing out that this step will contribute to increasing the port's capacity and will enhance the country's commercial and economic activities.
