Gaussin, a leader in clean and intelligent cargo and people mobility, announced today the testing of the first electric vehicles in Qatar at Ras Bufontas Free Zone. Gaussin rolled out the first batch of Electric Terminal Tractors the APM 75T for QTerminals, a terminal operating company that manages and operates the first phase of Hamad Port.

Qatar Airways on Thursday announced that it has received the 2021 Airline Passenger Experience Association's (APEX) Five Star Global Official Airline Rating. The APEX Award Ceremony was held during the FTE APEX Virtual Expo on 9 December. Over the past year, APEX certified nearly one million flights rated by passengers across more than 600 airlines from around the world.

The State of Qatar and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) held the third strategic dialogue via a video conference. Undersecretary-General for Counter-Terrorism Vladimir Voronkov chaired the UNOCT side, while HE Director of the International Cooperation Department and Chairman of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee at the Ministry of Interior chaired the Qatari side.

HE former President of the Republic of Austria and current President of the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens, Dr. Heinz Fischer, expressed deep gratitude for the generous support provided by the State of Qatar to the Center with the aim of achieving sustainable development and peace in the world, and praised the contribution of the State of Qatar in financing the women's empowerment program in Latin America, which was launched by the global program for the implementation of Doha declaration in cooperation with the Center.

The honoring ceremony for the winners of the 5th edition of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award took place in Tunis on Wednesday, in cooperation with the United Nations. Winners of the Award this year are Dr. Adam Graycar (Australia) and Dr. Michael Levi (United Kingdom) in the Academic Research and Education category; the non-governmental organization ONG Tolotsoa (Madagascar) and the Center for the Study of Democracy (Bulgaria) in the Youth Creativity and Engagement category; Riad Kobaissi (Lebanon) and Instituto Observatorio Politico e Socioambiental (Brazil) in the Innovation category; and Perdana Leadership Foundation (Malaysia) in the Outstanding Achievement category.

The State of Qatar took part in the High-Level Ministerial Meeting held on the sidelines of the World Press Freedom Conference (WPFC 2020) which is hosted by the Kingdom of the Netherlands in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi.

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) announced that its first edition of Beach Games will get underway from December 20, 2020 to January 2, 2021 at Aspire Park. The QOC invited beach games lovers and amateurs to register their names and details via a link set up on the QOC official website and social media accounts in order to get confirmation for participation in the Games.

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said Monday that the inauguration of the International Hub on Behavioural Insights to Counter Terrorism in Doha is an important occasion that carries great significance. His Excellency added that the hub is the first of its kind in the region and the world. It was one of the outcomes of the agreements signed on the sidelines of the Doha Forum in the attendance of the UN Secretary-General.

Doha 2030 said its youth working group would "ensure that Asia’s future sports stars, ambassadors and fans are at the very heart of Doha’s plans for a welcoming and inclusive Asian Games".
