The State of Qatar has reaffirmed its great interest in the work of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), since its accession to the conference at the 2014 Shanghai Summit, indicating its participation in many of its activities, including the participation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in the 5th Summit in Dushanbe, which came to demonstrate its interest in strengthening and developing cooperation with friendly Asian countries in all areas of common interest, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said that global governance requires a continuous commitment throughout the year to the principles of international law and the requirements of friendly relations between states on the basis of sovereign equality, good neighborliness, pluralism, and international and regional cooperation.

The State of Qatar participated on Wednesday in the annual meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), under the theme of Partnering for accelerated implementation of the Vienna Programme of Action and achieving sustainable development in LLDCs, which was held remotely. HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, headed the delegation of the State of Qatar to the meeting.

The Qatar Table Tennis Association announced that the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) has officially chosen the State of Qatar to host the 25th of the Asian Men's and Women's Table Tennis Championships to be held in September 2021, on the sidelines of the ATTU Executive Office meeting, which was held via video conference.

Qatar Free Zones Authority announced the signing of an agreement to establish the first factory to assemble electric vehicles in Ras Bufontas Free Zone, with "Gaussin Advance Mobility" Company. The 20 million euros joint venture between the French Gaussin Company and Al Attiya Motors and Trading Company, is set to assemble electric vehicles and accelerate the deployment of emission-free vehicles.

The UN Security Council welcomed the Afghan peace negotiations that began in Doha on Sep. 12 and thanked the Government of the State of Qatar for facilitating the first round of negotiations. This came in a press statement issued by the UNSC members and made by the UNSC President to the press on Friday. In the statement, which was adopted unanimously, the UNSC members welcomed the start of Afghan peace negotiations in Doha on Sep. 12, 2020.
