The State of Qatar participated in the virtual ministerial meeting of the Least Developed Countries, during 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi. His Excellency said, in the State of Qatar's speech, that the world is living in unprecedented conditions surrounded by many challenges to address the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, whose negative repercussions affect all countries, and particularly affect the least developed countries, and threaten to undermine the achieved development gains.

The Governments of the United States and the State of Qatar held the third United States-Qatar Strategic Dialogue on September 14-15, 2020. HE Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo co-chaired the Opening Session.

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said the holding of the third session of the Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue is a demonstration of the flourishing relations between the two countries, enabled by the mutual commitment between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President Donald Trump of the United States of America that emphasizes broad areas of cooperation as well as the close friendship between the two countries. The very important development in Afghanistan is the latest example of the close interaction between our two countries at the political level, His Excellency said.

Applications for the fifth edition of the biennial global health initiative World Innovation Summit for Health have opened. The event will take place in a unique virtual format from November 15-19, under the banner 'One World Our Health'.

Education Above All Foundation, along with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and Qatar Fund for Development, organized a high-level virtual event in Qatar on the sidelines of the first International Day for Protection of Education from Attack.

The transformations made necessary by the COVID-19 pandemic have driven institutions around the world to find new ways of continuing the work they do - including the World Innovation Summit for Health, Qatar Foundation's global health initiative.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) highlighted the resumption of AFC Champions League at Qatar stadiums where the World Cup 2022 will be held. The AFC published a special report on its website on the return of Asia's top clubs that will get underway again on Monday in Doha.

Eight stadiums will host matches during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Three of those venues Khalifa International, Al Janoub and Education City have already been unveiled, with the remaining five set to be completed long before the tournament kicks off on 21 November 2022. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Sustainable Stadiums report, compiled by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), outlines the sustainability features of each of the tournament venues in relation to design, construction and legacy.
