The 19th edition of the Doha Forum 2019 concluded this evening. The two-day forum which is a global platform for dialogue, was held this year under the theme "Reimagining Governance in a Multipolar World", in the presence of opinion leaders and policymakers from around the world, to discuss the challenges facing our world, and put forward applicable innovative solutions.

HE Minister of State and Chairman of Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA) Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed hosted a special ceremony for the signing of licenses for seven global companies to join the free zones. The companies, which join a group of more than 50 registered projects and companies in the free zones, are Unistrong, Gaussin, China Harbor, Inventus Power, Thales Group, Volkswagen and Wasco Coatings. All seven will contribute significantly to the strength of the free zones and in turn to the growth and development of Qatar's economy.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani attended the signing of 'Project Mobility Qatar' agreement between Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and Volkswagen Group, in a ceremony held Saturday on the sideline of the Doha Forum 2019

The Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar (IPAQ), an investment promotion agency specifically for the State of Qatar, and the Roscongress Foundation, a socially oriented non-financial Russian development institution and a major organizer of international conventions, with the support of the Qatar Embassy in Russia and Qatar-Russia project office have signed a cooperation agreement on the exchange of investment opportunities on the sidelines of the 19th edition of Doha Forum.

HE the Prime Minster of Malaysia Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad received an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy from Qatar University (QU) at a special ceremony held this evening at Ibn Khaldoon hall at QU.

The Consulate General of the State of Qatar held a reception celebrating the National Day of the State of Qatar. The Chief Secretary for Administration, the Honourable Mr. Matthew Cheung attended the celebration as the guest of honour representing the government of Hong Kong SAR. The celebration was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs Commissioner’s office in Hong Kong, Mr. Ru’an Song.

Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) has been certified to ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standard for the first time. This is a landmark achievement as Qatargas is one of a very few oil and gas companies in the region to achieve certification to this standard.

Khalifa International Stadium will host three additional matches during the FIFA Club World Cup 2019 after the official opening of Education City Stadium was postponed until early 2020.
