Diamond League Doha 2021 Witnesses New Records

The Doha Round, the second round of the 2021 Diamond League for Athletics, was held on Friday evening at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar SC, with the participation of a large number of Olympic and world champions, in the presence of HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.


Qatar Participates in ESCWA Meeting

The State of Qatar took part in the virtual side meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), on the sidelines of the first session of the Preparatory Committee for the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5). Preparations continue at Qatar Athletics Federation to host the Second Round of WANDA Diamond League 2021 (Doha Round), which will be held at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar SC on Friday. The Round is expected to see the participation of an elite of stars and legends, who will have fierce competitions to qualify for the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo.


Qatar Participates in International Conference on Education for Sustainable Development

The State of Qatar participated in the UNESCO Global Conference on Education for Sustainable Development, under the title "We learn for our planet, we work for sustainability," which was organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research. The conference was held via videoconferencing from Berlin.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said that workers and human rights are a priority for FIFA and Qatar as well, adding that the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup will be an ideal version of the World Cup. Speaking at the 71st FIFA Congress, which was held via videoconferencing, Infantino stated that the Qatar 2022 World Cup will not only be the most important and greatest tournament ever, but it will leave a great social impact and a great legacy in the country and the region as a whole.
