Al Raya newspaper highlighted, in its editorial today, that the State of Qatar has made great strides towards the transition to clean energy, as part of its National Vision 2030.The newspaper pointed out that Qatar pays great attention to sustainability and has made it the slogan of the next stage within its renaissance programs, as sustainability has entered into the development process in the State of Qatar, and it has even worked on launching international initiatives to save the planet and combat climate change, by shifting towards clean energy.

Al-Raya said that the United Nations General Assembly adopted by consensus the initiative of the State of Qatar to consider March 10 of every year as an International Day of Women Judges, adding it represents a new diplomatic victory for the State of Qatar that has become a milestone in international diplomacy.

Hamad International Airport (HIA), in its mission to preserve Qatar's environment by decreasing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing and recycling waste, managing noise, and controlling emissions to air and water; has implemented several sustainability initiatives since its inception. These initiatives have often been developed in collaboration with national stakeholders and contribute to the environmental development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced that Hisense has become an Official Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 .

President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa affirmed that the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 will be successful in all respects in light of the international attention it enjoys, especially from FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin praised Friday the State of Qatar's preparations for hosting World Cup 2022. Cerefing told the press that preparations for hosting World Cup 2022 were going well, saying that the visit he paid to Doha in January showed him first hand how well the country was preparing for the event, expressing his pride at the strong cooperation between European association and the Qatar Football Association (QFA), adding that these associations were ready to help QFA in any way.

HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaie, affirmed that the State of Qatar is pursuing a complete governmental approach to confront the factors of climate change in all its aspects, referring to the states efforts at home and abroad to ensure access to a more sustainable world. This came in the speech of His Excellency the Minister of Municipality and Environment today as a keynote speaker during the virtual sub-session on adaptation and recovery, which was held on the sidelines of the leaders' summit on climate through video conference technology.

Qatar will provide safe, reliable and accessible transportation solutions during the FIFA World Cup 2022. In addition, the country has implemented a host of sustainable projects which will reduce the environmental impact and provide numerous legacy benefits. To mark Earth Day 2021, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) highlights the projects which will help reduce the countrys carbon footprint and achieve its goal of staging the first carbon-neutral World Cup.

Al-Raya newspapers emphasized, in its Thursday editorial, the strength and resilience of the Qatari economy, which is based on sound foundations that protected it from the consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic, adding that the Qatari economy was able to bypass the Coronavirus stage and seeks to achieve promising growth.

The State of Qatar has been unanimously elected to the membership of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the period (2022-2024), as well as the membership of the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
