HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said, "Qatar is well prepared to demonstrate for the world that we can host such an event (2022 World Cup) and have it hopefully in-person and this is our plan from the beginning," adding that the Qatar World Cup will be a great opportunity for the world as the first happy event that will take place after the novel coronavirus pandemic and isolation.

Doha to Host 31st AFC General Assembly Next November

The Executive Office of the Asian Football Confederation decided to hold the 31st General Assembly of the Confederation, next November in Doha. In a speech during the seventh meeting of the AFC Executive Office, which was held today in the Bahraini capital, Manama, the President of the AFC, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, praised the application of the highest standards and protocols for health and safety during the successful organization of the AFC Champions League 2020 hosted by Doha, explaining that this success paved the way for the repetition of the same standards in 2021, and thanked the member national federations that had expressed their interest in hosting the upcoming competitions in the grouping system in the Asian qualifiers, the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup.

Qatar Airways to operate the world's first fully COVID-19 vaccinated flight today. The flight will depart Hamad International Airport carrying only vaccinated crew and passengers onboard, with passengers also to be served by fully vaccinated staff at check-in. The special flight will showcase all the measures the airline has put in place to ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene on board, including its latest innovation, the worlds first Zero-Touch in-flight entertainment technology. The special service will be operated by the airlines most technologically advanced and sustainable aircraft, the Airbus A350-1000, with the flight also fully carbon offset in line with the carriers environmental responsibilities.
