ILO Selects Qatar As Member of Fair Recruitment Initiative Advisory Committee

The International Labor Organization (ILO) has chosen the State of Qatar as a member of the Advisory Committee of the ILO's Fair Recruitment Initiative, among five governments, in appreciation of its efforts and reforms undertaken in the labor sector and the clear distinction it has achieved in the field of workers' rights.


Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs: Qatar Encourages Youth Participation in Peace, Decision-Making Processes

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani affirmed that the State of Qatar is working to encourage youth participation in all stages of peace paths, including decision-making. This came in the inaugural speech of the State of Qatar, delivered today by His Excellency before the High-Level Global Conference on Youth-Inclusive Peace Processes, which is held virtually from January 19-21.


QFZA, Inventus Power Open a Regional Technology Center in Qatar

"Inventus Power" Company - a global US based leader in advanced battery technology & manufacturing - and "Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA)" inaugurated the companys technical center and manufacturing facility in Qatar Free Zones, with the aim to accelerate Inventus Powers international expansion, and to serve the European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) markets.




Al-Watan: MoPH Obtained Advanced Global Classification in Dealing with COVID-19

Al-Watan daily newspaper noted on Saturday that the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) in the State of Qatar ranked 15th globally among the best ministries of health in dealing with (Covid-19) pandemic, according to the classification of the German magazine Der Spiegel. In addition, the Central Food Laboratories in the State of Qatar obtained the American national accreditation for American standards.


The Peninsula Commends Organizing Doha International Book Fair Despite Pandemic

Qatari English-language newspaper The Peninsula praised in its Saturday editorial the 31st edition of Doha International Book Fair, despite the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The newspaper stressed that this edition, which is held under the slogan "Knowledge is Light", provides a window of knowledge for researchers, innovators, scientists and writers to develop societies and improve life, highlighting the participation of a number of countries and the presence of books in different languages.


HH the Amir Receives Message of Thanks from United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has received a written message from HE the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, in which he expressed thanks and gratitude to HH the Amir for the support of the State of Qatar and its sending of emergency winter relief materials to the Afghan capital, Kabul, by organizing an airlift on board four aircraft of the Qatari Armed Forces to transport 91 tons of relief materials.


Al-Watan Affirms Qatari Economy Ability to Face Challenges

Al-Watan newspaper affirmed in its Wednesday editorial that the Qatari economy is largely capable of facing future challenges, as confirmed by HE President of Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) Dr. Saleh bin Mohammad Al Nabit's presentation of Qatar's Economic Outlook Report 2021-2023.
